TPMS stands for tyre-pressure monitoring system.
It has been designed to alert and warn drivers when tyre pressure drops in a particular tyre.
Inside each tyre is a sensor valve and if it detects a change from the maqnufacturesrs reccomended pressure setting it alerts the drive, this is usually by way of a warning light on the dash board or by an alarm signal.
TPMS sensors should be checked and regularly serviced to prevent the sensors developing faults. One of the most common issues we see is when the battery powering the sensor needs replacing.
At Downton Tyre & Autocare we are equipped with all the latest equipment to diagnose, report and where necessary service or repair / rerplace your TPMS Seensors.
